Preparing for a Mud Color conversation
Wear solid, muted colors that compliment your skin tone. Avoid busy patterns & stripes.
Do not wear clothing that feature trademark logos. (Ex. Nike, Chanel, Gucci , etc.)
You are welcome to wear your own personal branded items.
Be mindful of your posture during our on-camera conversation. Sit tall.
Most important: bring good energy. Vibrations always translate over the camera.
What to Expect
DURATION:
Please allow at least 90 minutes. If you are unable to commit to the 90 minutes, let's reschedule. The moderator will prompt you when we have reached one hour of interview time. At that point, we will continue until we reach a natural stopping point not to exceed 90 minutes. If you want to continue past that, we can certainly do so.

LOCATION:
It is likely that we scheduled your interview to be in your home or somewhere you are comfortable. We do this on purpose so that we capture a part of your life, in a setting that is natural to you. This is part of creating an accurate historical account. One or two team members from Mud Color will arrive on location at the scheduled meeting time - a moderator that will conduct the interview and a camera person.

SET UP ON LOCATION:
If lighting is low, we may have to set up lighting. Again, we want it to look as natural to your lifestyle as possible but a little Hollywood magic doesn't hurt either. If you have children or pets, it is acceptable to have muted noise of your real life. If you feel compelled to have your children sit in on the interview and chime in from time to time, that is acceptable as well. We want this to be as natural to your life as possible.

EQUIPMENT:
We may use electronics that most households might already have - computer, tablet, cellphone. We are creating a curriculum for others to be able to produce their own interviews at home. Ideally our interview subjects, like yourself, will see the simplicity of the setup and will institute regular interviews with their family members to document the story of their family and friends.

INTERVIEW QUESTIONS:
We use a base set of questions and the moderator will ask context follow-up questions based on your responses. We will discuss your personal history and your views on the big mysteries of life and love. We do not send out the questions we will ask before hand as we want your responses to be spontaneous rather than practiced and prepared. What you share is entirely up to you. Be authentic. Be genuine.

POST INTERVIEW:
If you would like a copy of our interview, please provide us with a USB thumb drive with at least 4GB of data available. We will provide you with unedited footage with Mud Color's watermark. The finished, edited video will be posted to our YouTube channel and across other social media platforms and in print publications.
