Saturday, October 26, 2024 a rally was held at the South Carolina State Capitol organized by Soth Carolinians for Alternatives to the Death Penalty (SCADP). The gathering was staged to protest the execution of convicted killer, Richard Moore, who is set to die by lethal injection on November 1st.
Mud Color interim Executive Director, Coreen Williams, was in attendance at the event to support a Mud Color partner, Rise and Shine Inspirations founder, Jhamori Smith. Jhamori, "JPOWER," along with a few other guest speakers, were tasked with inspiring the crowd of people who support clemency for Richard Moore. JPower recounted his experiences coming-of-age in the hostile environment of the penitentiary. The mental fortitude it takes to endure the trauma and the torture of prison was clearly conveyed.
